ViewLux Bathroom Remodeling: The Los Angeles Owner’s Guide

A ViewLux bathroom remodel in Los Angeles typically runs between $10,620 and $33,040, depending on bathroom size, material choices, and whether we’re replacing the shower, the vanity, the fixtures, or all three. Most ViewLux-specific jobs are completed in two to four weeks once the parts arrive. If your ViewLux shower is leaking, the track is bent, or a cabinet pull has torn through, we stock the common replacement hardware and can match finishes by sample.

You usually discover a ViewLux part has failed the hard way: water staining on the ceiling below a second-floor bathroom, a drawer that won’t close, or a glass panel that has shifted a quarter inch out of square. The brand’s aluminum framing is true to spec, but Los Angeles water has a habit of eating through plated fasteners faster than anyone expects. Graham Stein has seen the same failure pattern in older ViewLux installs across Echo Park, Silver Lake, and the Valley: it is rarely the big glass panel that goes first. It is the small, plated bracket behind it.

Which ViewLux Models This Applies To

ViewLux has used three distinct shower enclosure systems over the years, and parts do not interchange across all of them. The early series used a square-edge aluminum profile with exposed screw caps; the mid-series moved to a rounded profile with hidden fasteners; the current series uses a slimmer rail with magnetic seals. A 2008 door roller will not fit a 2023 track, and a current-series handle does not match a mid-series hole pattern. The best way to identify what you have is to measure the glass thickness and the width of the top rail: older units carry 5/16-inch glass, the mid-series 3/8-inch, and current units use 3/8-inch low-iron glass that has a slightly different tint. Send us a photo of the rail profile and we can usually identify the series from the shape of the aluminum alone.

We are an independent service provider, not affiliated with ViewLux. When a ViewLux OEM part is available and still in production, we quote it first. When production has stopped for a series, we match to quality aftermarket components from the same materials: stamped aluminum rails, brass rollers, tempered glass cut to the same thickness. We do not substitute thinner glass to save money, and we do not install plastic rollers where the original was brass.

Signs Your ViewLux Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • The glass panel sags or scrapes against the bottom track. This almost always means the roller cartridges have worn flat. Los Angeles homes settle, and a roller with even a millimeter of play becomes a scraping sound against the aluminum rail. A sagging panel puts pressure on the top brackets, which then loosen and wobble.
  • Water appears at the base of the shower after every use. The vinyl sweeps and seals on ViewLux units harden over time, especially in homes with unsoftened Los Angeles water. When the sweep hardens, water wicks under the door instead of channeling into the drain track. It is a $15 part that causes thousands in subfloor damage when ignored.
  • The handle feels loose or the screw cap keeps falling off. The threads inside the aluminum rail are fine; what fails is the plated screw. Once the zinc plating pits, the screw loses its bite. Re-tightening only strips the hole further. We replace the screw and sleeve the hole before reinstalling the handle.
  • There’s a slow drip from the towel bar when nobody has touched the shower. This points to a wall-mount fitting that has pulled slightly from the tile. The rubber gasket behind the escutcheon compresses over the years, and water follows the threads. It presents as a “towel bar leak” but the true cause is the seal behind the wall plate.
  • Corrosion or green oxidation at any joint. Los Angeles tap water is not unusually hard citywide, but certain pockets, especially near the foothills, carry enough minerals to pit aluminum quickly. Oxidation at a joint means the protective anodized coating has failed, and the part will continue to deteriorate even if the bathroom is kept dry.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A freestanding soaking tub in a remodeled primary bathroom

For ViewLux bathroom remodeling in Los Angeles, plan around these installed prices:

  • Full bathroom remodel with ViewLux-compatible shower enclosure: $10,620 – $33,040
  • Small bathroom remodel (shower, vanity, fixtures): $5,900 – $14,160
  • Walk-in shower installation with ViewLux-style glass: $5,310 – $14,160
  • Tub-to-shower conversion with ViewLux-style enclosure: $4,130 – $11,800
  • Shower replacement, single enclosure only: $3,540 – $10,030

The range moves with three things: the glass thickness, whether the pan or base is being replaced, and whether we’re keeping the existing plumbing rough-in or moving it. On every job we quote the written price before any work starts, with the parts and labor separated so you know exactly where the money goes. The cabinets, fixtures, and countertops we install are brands you can research by name: KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone are part of our regular material chain, alongside Kohler, Moen, and Grohe. Every ViewLux bathroom remodel comes with our 365-Day Done Right Promise, which is the same promise we stamp on every project: if it is not done right after the job is complete, we make it right.

DIY or Call Us?

If the issue is a loose handle, a missing screw cap, a hardened vinyl sweep, or a misaligned roller, a careful homeowner can inspect these without removing the glass. We will even walk you through a photo identify over the phone, at no charge. The moment the fix requires lifting the glass panel or disassembling the frame, call us. A single 3/8-inch tempered glass panel on a ViewLux enclosure weighs between 60 and 90 pounds. Drop it, and the panel shatters into granules. Clear the track, and the whole assembly goes out of square. We have replaced enough cracked panels in Los Angeles to know the repair for a DIY glass removal costs twice the original hardware. Call (949) 850-9896 if the repair involves the glass, the track, or anything seated behind tile, and we will quote the work before we touch a tool.
